Empowering Women for Success
July 2010

Shalom beautiful women of G-d! My prayer is that you will be blessed in your life, your family and your ministry.

Summer time according to the world is time to have fun, chill out and take vacations. However, in G-d’s Kingdom, summer is a time of preparation for us to get deeper into His word and a time to get closer to our Abba, the King of Kings and the L-rd of L-rds.

It is for this reason that G-d has given us the month of Elul an acronym ( Ani l’dodi v’dodi li: I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine ) from Song of Songs 6:3. I starts this year, August 11, on our Jewish calendar in the year 5770. This allows us to prepare for His Fall Feasts.

It is time for us to go to our G-d and ask Him to draw us near and show us what is holding us back from a more intimate relationship with Him. We need to lay down our flesh and our self-life and concentrate on getting to the next level in our walk with Him. We usually read Psalm 27 daily for the entire month.

The month of Elul takes us into Erev Rosh Hashanah on Wednesday, September 8, where we will meet at our Synagogue at 7:30PM. We will end our service with apples and honey, expecting a sweet New Year.

Also in preparation for Rosh Hashanah we will have our Mikveh after services on Saturday, September 4. We go into the water and ask G-d to cleanse us of our sins, and to help us walk in His word in our daily life.

At this time, we can aspire to a renewal of our heart and mind. It should be a time of personal change. Ask Yeshua to help you get into His presence. You may want to fast to seek the miracles He has promised you. I always ask Him to give me new revelations of His word! ( Matthew 17-21).

This is a season of reflection. It is a time of mercy, forgiveness of others and our selves. It is a time of repentance. We need to make T’shuva, to return to our first love. Let us prepare our hearts for what Abba has to say to us so that we can receive from Him.

In this season, we need to bow down and worship the King of Kings. We need to seek His Glory!
It is up to us; each and every one of us. It involves faith, trust and believing that G-d can take us into His Holy Place! We need to consecrate ourselves, humble ourselves, yield and surrender to Him. (2 Chronicles 30:9)

I personally want to invite you to our Annual Gesher Shalom Woman’s Retreat on Sunday, August 8, at 9:00 AM. Come and let us seek our G-d together and enjoy time in His presence as we sing, dance and study His word. I am blessed to have Sue Samuel to minister with me. She is a singer, songwriter and musician.
Blessings in our Messiah!
